Wherever you’re starting, we can build from there

Sometimes you know exactly what you need, a fundraising plan, help preparing for a capital campaign, or a fresh look at an organizational challenge. Other times, you have a promising idea and aren’t quite sure what the next step should be.

That’s where I come in. My work is shaped around the organization, the people, and the challenge at hand. We might build something new, strengthen what’s already in place, bring greater clarity to an idea, or help turn a plan into action.

I believe the right solution has to fit the organization — not the consultant. Whether you a need a focused conversation, support navigating a change or challenge, or a partner for a larger project we can begin with where you are and what makes sense for you.

Some of the ways we might work together

Fundraising & Campaigns

Fundraising works best when it’s built around genuine relationships and a clear connection between donors and the work they care about. Whether you’re starting your first fundraising program, strengthening what you already have, or preparing for a large scale capital campaign, I can help build an approach that fits your organization, your goals and your capacity.

This might include:

  • Building or strengthening a fundraising program

  • Developing mid- or major-gift strategies and stronger donor relationships

  • Assessing readiness and planning for a capital campaign

  • Providing counsel and support throughout an active campaign

  • Developing fundraising plans, cases for support, and practical systems

  • Helping boards and staff become more confident and effective fundraisers.

Organizational Planning and Capacity

Organizations change and grow, and sometimes the structures, systems, or plans that worked before no longer fit. I can help you step back, make sense of where you are, and identify practical ways to strengthen the organization and support the people doing the work.

This might include:

  • Organizational and strategic planning

  • Board development, training, and engagement

  • Clarifying roles, priorities, and decision-making

  • Strengthening systems in ways that fit your organization’s size and capacity

  • Working through periods of growth, transition, or change

  • Helping turn plans into realistic, actionable next steps

Philanthropy & Funder Partnerships

Strong philanthropy starts with clarity about the change you’d like to see as a funder and understanding the communities and organizations connected to that work. Having worked on both the nonprofit and funder sides of the table, I can help funders clarify what they hope to accomplish, explore the opportunities around them, or develop thoughtful initiatives that put their philanthropic goals into action. I can also help nonprofits better understand the funder perspective and build stronger, more authentic philanthropic partnerships.

This might include:

  • Clarifying your philanthropic goals

  • Exploring community needs, opportunities, and possibilities through the lens of those goals

  • Developing grant making strategies, programs, and new philanthropic initiatives

  • Taking a new initiative from early idea through design and launch

  • Helping nonprofits understand the funder perspective and build strong, authentic partnerships

  • Bringing funders, nonprofits, and community partners together around shared goals and opportunities

Ideas Into Action

A good plan is only useful if you can put it into practice. Whether you’re developing a new initiative, building a fundraising program, or making a meaningful change within your organization, I can stay alongside you as the work moves from planning to implementation. That might mean coaching, troubleshooting, adjusting the plan as you learn, or simply providing an experienced sounding board along the way.

This might include:

  • Developing and launching new programs or initiatives

  • Turning plans and recommendations into manageable next steps

  • Coaching staff and leaders as they put new fundraising or organizational plans into practice

  • Troubleshooting challenges and adapting as the work unfolds

  • Building internal skills and confidence so organization can carry the work forward themselves

  • Provide ongoing thought partnership when an outside perspective is useful

Not sure where to start?

That’s completely fine. You don’t need to have the answer or even know exactly what kind of help you need. Tell me what you’re thinking about and we can start there.
